COMPANY PROFILE –

Macdonald floor was established in 1995 predominantly as a small floorcovering contractor working from the garage at the founding director Brendan Macdonald’s home in Melbourne’s northern suburbs.

Brendan’s father Ronald worked for the company until his retirement in mid 2005. Leaving the industry after 40 years’ worth of involvement passing on a vast amount of knowledge and experience to the company.

The founding director recognised the need to bring young people into the company and the need for educated staff that would take the company forward along with the continual employment of apprentices would hold Macdonald floor in good stead for its future and growth.

We are Based in Epping Victoria part of Melbourne’s fast growing northern suburbs.

Our target market is Floor & Wallcoverings packages in the value of $250k – $2 million, working with trusted clients in the Health & Aged Care, Education, Defence + Commercial & Retail sectors.

We also undertake many smaller projects and are actively involved in Value management for our clients.

We value our relationships with industry associations such as FAV, FCIA & VECCI along with our partners in business and our floor & wallcoverings suppliers.

Macdonald Floor now have 3 directors –

Mr. Brendan Macdonald the founding & managing director who now has over 39 years’ experience in the commercial floorcovering industry.

Mr. Liam Failla a tertiary qualified estimator who heads our estimating team. Liam also joined the company as a director in 2020 after completing his degree and working as the company’s chief estimator and also learning his craft in the company.

Mr. Curtly Macdonald a certificate 3 qualified floorcovering installer and project manager (now the third generation in the family in this industry) joined the company as a director in 2020 after undertaking his apprenticeship and working for several years as a qualified installer & learning his craft in the company.

OUR CURRENT MANAGEMENT TEAM –

Brendan Macdonald – Managing Director

Commenced in the Floorcovering industry in 1984 and is the 2nd generation of the family in the floorcovering industry, Qualified in cert 3 in flooring technology in 1988, A former Board member of FAV (floorcovering association of Victoria) I also have a passion and strong belief in the value of training young people weather it be work or life in general, To be the best and most successful version of themselves.

My Interests are my family & football, boxing, golf, boating & fishing and I have a passion for horse racing

Liam Failla – Chief Estimator / Director

Commenced in the Floorcovering industry in 2016 and has a degree in building & construction estimating and a certificate in sports & recreation.

My interests are my family, football, golf, music and holidays, I am in a leadership role at my football club and a member at my local golf club and I have a passion for live music.

Curtly Macdonald – Project Manager / Director

Commenced in the Floorcovering industry in 2014 and has certificate 3 in flooring technology. 

My interests are my family, golf, football, boating and overseas travel. I have a passion for the floorcovering industry and I am proud to be the 3rd generation of my family to work in this company.
